fweew

I feel like I have not had a weekend. I didn't really have time to breathe this weekend, but it will be worth it when I have that direct deposit into my account. I worked both Saturday and Sunday in Louisville with Marcy. I love working with Marcy and I felt like I hadn't seen her in forever. Saturday was painfully slow for the first part of the day and Sunday was pretty hectic. I drove back to Versailles both nights. Last night I planted six more rows of corn. I actually planted some really good rows...and I think that was because I decided I like it when the tractor is going faster than I was going before. But since I had to work at CVS today I felt like I really had no weekend. I'm hoping tomorrow is a short day...but if not it will still be my last day at CVS.

Last night I watched Gran Torino for the first time. I really liked the movie. It was pretty funny in most parts, but I was really, really sad when the girl got hurt at the end. And I actually cried when Clint Eastwood died for the kids to have a better life ahead of them. I'm such a girl....but I liked the overall movie even when it was slow in parts.

I can't wait until Sunday when I feel like I can rest and do nothing. Wedding in Indianapolis on Friday and cookout there on Sunday. And hopefully Adam will start looking for a job next weekend if he gets his license in the mail today or tomorrow....fingers crossed that he passed his Kentucky Law exam!

Thursday, June 25

I can't believe that I only have 3 more days of my second rotation. I've really enjoyed this rotation too. I've enjoyed everyone that I have worked with...except for those two floaters. It is just a basic retail pharmacy but I liked the fact that Keith and Von understood that I am not getting paid so let me go home when some of us are just standing around. I'm going to miss them next month. However, next month I am at Good Samaritan. I'm just glad that I will get to work with Adam's dad for the days when he is there. Whitney seemed to really enjoy the rotation, but I'm just hoping to be able to not look stupid and get the hang of hospital rotations before I head off to Frankfort, BG, and Central Baptist.

Mom and Dad are heading home from Daytona tomorrow. I have talked to them everyday and they seemed to have beautiful weather every day...so I'm glad. I know that when you have vacation you want it to be beautiful. Wish I was there though. But I am not. But Adam and I have been having a great week just hanging around. I planted some tomatoes last night...even though I don't like them. I thought I'd help. I was in the cornhole tournament in Louisville on Tuesday. I had a really good first game...but my partner did not. My partner had a good 2nd game..and I did not..so we were doubly eliminated. Oh well. I don't ever expect to win the money anyway. Tomorrow is Kristen's birthday...yay! So I don't know if I'm going to see her this weekend or not. I will be in Louisville working but I don't know if she has plans or not so I'll be playing it by ear if I'm going to see her.

I just hate the fact that I have to work this weekend b/c I've lost my weekend and I'll be working for free again before I know it:(

Happy Father's Day

I want to wish my Daddy a Happy Father's Day since I didn't get to spend the day with him. Him and Mom are in Daytona Beach. I wish that I could have gone with them, but I didn't want to only work 1 month and then take the next one off. So here I am in Lexington while my parents are in Florida. But I hope they are having fun. I ate dinner with Adam's family. They were kind enough to invite me to their cookout with delicious food. I also planted corn today...my couple of rows are a little squiggly since I couldn't drive the tractor in a straight line...oops:) I bet my corn grows the best anyway b/c it wants to be different and not in a straight line.

PS...walked a little today so I've exercised 4 days in a row...once again trying to get back in shape...story of my life

Saturday, June 20

Leigh and I signed a lease for our new townhouse on Thurday. We are moving in September 1st (or earlier if the townhouses are finished) for at least a year. I don't know what we're going to do in August yet b/c our current lease is only until the end of July. But I guess we'll see. Our new townhouse is going to be off of Leestown road so it's a little out of the way, but it's going to be brand new and nice with a two car attached garage. I'm just ready to be done moving in..I hate moving.

I don't know what I'm going to do for the next year either. I could either stay there or drive every day..or I could move to Louisville. Not sure yet. The future is very curious for me....I hate the unknown.

Thursday, June 18

So yesterday, Whitney and I decided to head up to Cincinnati to watch the Braves at Reds. We went up there and ate at my all time favorite restaurant up there--Rock Bottom Brewery. So we got there during Happy Hour so we got an appetizer for 5.00. It was amazing. Some sort of chicken roll things with cheese and 3 dipping sauces. Awesome. And then we each got a microbrewed beer for 2.oo. I got this hamburger with guacamole, pepperjack cheese, pico de gallo, and chipotle mayonaisse...and it was amazing. Whitney's chicken was a little pink, so she sent it back with a disclaimer that she hated sending things back. The manager was super nice and had one ready right away and then asked if we were going to the game and had tickets. We didn't have tickets yet b/c we were just going to go up to the ticket window and buy some. So he came back with free tickets. They ended up being in the right field which isn't as close as we were going to get, but we figured we would totally keep them since they were free. Yay..so excited. Also, yesterday, Adam got his NAPLEX results and he passed!! So now he takes the law portion of the exam on June 24th...so fingers crossed. When he passes that he will then be a licensed pharmacist!:)

Long week

I can't believe it's been a whole week since I wrote...but it has been a crazy week. I worked at the good ole CVS all week. Three of the days there were floaters b/c Von was in Puerto Rico on vacation. The first floater was great b/c she graduated with my roomie, Lori, and was really cool and laid back. The second floater was kind of annoying b/c she was upset b/c a tech at a different store was probably quitting b/c the company was apparently 'doing him wrong'. But she called about 10 people she knew and was on the phone with them for at least 20 minutes at a time complaining about the injustice of it all...instead of working. And then she was saying how to be a good retail pharmacist you have to please the patients. I wanted to look at her and say, "no, really? I did not understand that concept by working 6 years at Target and a year at Walgreens." Ugh. And then on Friday...it was a crazy day. The pharmacist that worked has been a pharmacist for 17 years but this was only her 2nd day as a CVS floater so she had no idea how to reverse insurance rejections or how to even run the cash register. And with me only having been there 2 weeks it wasn't like I knew CVS's system. So it was interesting...and Friday is the order day so we had about 15 totes of drugs to put up on the shelves. So I stayed until 3 to help.

Adam took his NAPLEX on Thursday. He'll probably find out how he did on Monday or Tuesday. He takes the law part of the exam on the 24th of this month. We met him at the Hofbrauhaus in Newport. It was good beer and a lot of good food. I bet I gained five pounds this weekend between the Hofbrauhaus and the pig roast yesterday. Tomorrow starts the diet and exercise program again. I have to stop having my bad sprouts. I'm hoping to go to a Braves game in Cincy on Tuesday or Wednesday. Adam will probably go with me. I might see if Whitney wants to go with me too. My parents came up for the pig roast yesterday and met Adam's parents for the first time. I'm glad that it went well and they really liked Adam's parents. So yay!

I'm just being lazy for the rest of the night. I've done nothing but nap and lay all day. It's great. So I'm watching the Magic (hopefully win) and reading the 6th book of Harry Potter before the movie comes out.

Make It Stop

I have suddenly been hit by the online shopping bug. I need it to stop b/c as we all know I am living on loan money that I have to pay back with interest. I pre-ordered my Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on Amazon in paperback for $10. But to qualify for free shipping you have to spend at least $25. So since I will be reading a lot since I don't have to study anymore I decided to read the Bourne series. I read The Bourne Identity a long, long time ago and remember that I really liked the book but have no clue anymore, so I'm going to reread it and read the other two that are movies. I also ordered a bathing suit from Victoria's Secret. I finally bought a bikini a year ago, so I saw one in the magazine that I think I might like that will have adequate coverage. So hopefully I'll like it. I also ordered some stationary last week from Trioartstationary.com . I highly recommend that site. It's awesome....and if you live in Bowling Green you can pick your order up for free instead of the $8 shipping I have to pay to get it to Lex.

Fun night

Last night several of us went out for Doug's birthday that was Thursday. I enjoyed hanging out with my pharmacy friends. It's a shame how less often you see your friends when you're not in class with them every day even though you're not officially graduated. We went out to Tin Roof...and that place was packed. I have no idea how it is so popular...but when it starts getting colder it will be empty since it's mostly outdoors.

Adam is taking his NAPLEX on Thursday. Once he passes that and the Kentucky Law Exam (MPJE) he will be a licensed pharmacist. How crazy! Saturday his parents are hosting another pig roast for him and his sister, Leah's, graduation. This is actually the official pig roast so his mom sent out invitations. My parents are going to come for some of it...which is a little scary. It's going to be the first time that my parents have met his parents. Kind of a big deal, maybe? But I think it will be fine. I will also have plenty of friends there that like to talk and will keep Mom and Dad company with me. I just hope that they don't feel awkward.

I'm almost finished with the 5th Harry Potter. I'm proud b/c it's not like I have been sitting and just reading...otherwise I would have had it finished a long time before now. I looked on Amazon and the paper back copy of the 7th book comes out in July. I might preorder it. I had the hard copy but I lent it to a friend 2 years ago and they never decided to return it..or all my One Tree Hill seasons...so I guess I'll have to rebuy it. But I'm trying to find a couple other books I want so that I can get free shipping. I am so cheap:)

Rotation #2

I started my second rotation yesterday. I am at the CVS on Southland Drive in Lexington...and it is going to be a good month. The 2 pharmacists that I have worked with are hilarious...and great. Everyone I work with is fantastic. I am learning the computer system so that I can somewhat figure what to do when people call in to the pharmacy for refills or what not. It's different than Walgreens, but I think that all the retail chains are going to be different.

I bought He's Just Not That Into You today with my Best Buy giftcard from Brad and Kristal. It is a really cute movie. I hadn't seen it yet, but most of my friends gave it good reviews so I thought it was a good purchase. But I enjoyed it...and it made me cry..imagine that. I'm trying to finishing the 5th Harry Potter book for the second time and reread the sixth one as well before the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince comes out. I have read all of the Harry Potter books, but it's been so long since I've read the sixth one that I have no idea what goes on in the movie except for the ending and a really creepy part with dead bodies floating in a lake that I remember. But I'm going to read it again...hopefully.

I'm proud of myself. I have been walking very consistently since the beginning of May. I walked almost everyday with Mom at home last month and have continued walking my 2 miles at the Arboretum every day...sometimes with Adam. I have also been eating healthy and can tell by the way my clothes fit that I've lost some weight...so yay!

I am crazy...and I know my Dad is going to say that I am being mean to my poor little Grand Am, but I think I'm going to drive to Louisville and back almost every Tuesday to play cornhole. I went last night and forgot how much I enjoyed myself even though I'm not much of an actual money threat. But it's just fun. The only thing missing is Marissa. I miss her. Wish she was back in Louisville again...or at least somewhere this summer where I can see her. Maybe I can meet up with her in Indianapolis 4th of July weekend when I'm there with Adam for his cousin's wedding??? Hmm:)

Back to normal

Back home in Lexington. It's weird to be here in the summer months. The past 2 years I've ventured away from Lexington during the summer for other jobs. I finally got my apartment back in order...just some vacuuming and cleaning of the bathroom. Yesterday and today were beautiful. I enjoyed walking at the arboretum and going to the pool today. Tomorrow will be my first day of my 2nd rotation. I'm a little nervous even though I shouldn't be. So another month of working for free...but luckily this month I'm around a lot of my friends and a very special person:) However, I do miss my parents...but Dad finally got the new roof on! Hoorah.
